NEW THIS YEAR
We've added a "Diamond" medal/pin to our Adjudication Awards.
Only productions can compete without attending the intensives, and there will be no consideration of levels for productions. All will compete in their age divisions.
All routines will be judged for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place based on scores. You must achieve the required score to win 1st place, even if you're the only one in your category.
If two or more judges check the PROMOTION BOX, the routine moves to a higher level with a 1-point deduction.
MINI
BEGINNER
TINY, MINI & JUNIOR
1- 2 hours a week of dance training.
An Elite dancer cannot perform in a group with beginner level dancers.
Recommended for recreational dancers with minimal to no competition experience.
If the dancers in the routine perform anything more advanced than the following, the routine will be bumped up to the next level category:
Demonstrates basic technical skills, body lines, placement, flexibility, control, stage presence, and timing.
Performs simple choreography with beginner-level quality.
Maximum of single pirouette and single leg hold turns.
Simple leaps, elevations, and extensions.
No consecutive turn sequences (e.g., fouettés or à la seconde combinations).
Basic skills such as floor rolls, back bends, simple chin/chest stands, cartwheels, round-offs, and walkovers.
No back handsprings, round-off back handsprings, headsprings, valdez, tinsica, Arabian limbers, variations of front and back walkovers, or airborne tumbling movements (side/front aerials, tucks, layouts, or twists).
INTERMEDIATE
TINY, MINI, JUNIOR & TEEN
3 - 6 hours a week of dance training.
An “Intermediate” dancer can perform in a group with beginner and/or elite level dancers.
If the dancers in the routine perform anything more advanced than the following, the routine will be bumped up to the next level category:
Demonstrates knowledge and execution of technical skills, body lines, placement, flexibility, control, stage presence, timing, spatial awareness, and performance quality.
Executes choreography with moderate difficulty and a developing understanding of style and movement quality.
Executes up to double pirouettes, double leg hold turns, progressive leap and elevation sequences, and beginning turn combinations (simple fouettés and à la seconde combinations with arm variations).
Executes simple tumbling passes including multiple back handsprings and side aerials.
No front aerials, baranis, front tosses, flip to sits, tucks, layouts, or full twists allowed. Demonstrates skills in turn sequences, elevations, and extensions.
ELITE
TINY, MINI, JUNIOR & TEEN
*An ”Elite” dancer cannot perform in a group with”beginner” level dancers.
*Recommended for recreational dancers.
If the dancers in the routine perform anything more advanced than the following steps, the routine will be bumped up to the next level category:
*Single pirouette.
*More than 2 technical elements.
ELITE
MINI, JUNIOR, TEEN, SENIOR & OPEN
7+ hours a week of dance training.
Executes numerous pirouettes and leg hold turns with advanced skill.
Performs complex turn combinations (e.g., fouettés and à la secondes with arm variations).
Shows advanced ambidexterity and skills in turn sequences, elevations, and extensions.
Executes complex tumbling passes, including multiple back handsprings, layouts, tucks, aerials, front aerials, x-outs, half twists, and full twists.

It is recommended that levels are determined based on the number of hours of classes per week and not rehearsals. However, it is important to recognize that in addition to classes, other factors can be taken into account in determining your students placement:
Years of dance experience within the classroom
Years of experience in competitive dance
The variety and quality of hours of dance training

AWARDS
Our staff has all the experience to provide you with the necessary feedback to continue and support your growth and training. ALL ROUTINES will receive a certain recognition to either the dancer(s), choreographer, routine itself or dance studio.

Our participants are very important to us, so in addition to the awards, every routine will receive audio or written feedback from our panel of judges

In any level, category, or performance division, even if there is no competition, routines are still assessed based on adjudication scores to determine 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Therefore, even if a routine is the only one in its category, it still needs to meet the required score to obtain its placement. This means that your choreography will not automatically receive a 1st place if it is the only routine in its category.

Each participating routine will receive an award according to the following scores:

REVOLT SMASH
Regardless of the competition scores, this award is given to GROUP routines selected by the judges for presenting an extraordinary performance.
In Revolt, we promote teamwork. This is why, in certain cities where we have a closing show, if you are a dance studio that has some Line and/or Production choreographies, our judges may ask you to perform any one of your group choreographies.
SPECIALTY AWARDS
ELEVATED TECHNIQUE AWARD
This recognition will be given to the choreography and participants with an advanced and outstanding level of dance technique.
ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The recognition given to the participants for performing their choreography with great artistic style and grace on stage.
BRING THE SASS AWARD
The recognition of the choreography that has the most outstanding attitude and projection.
FULL OUT AWARD
The recognition of the choreography with more energy that makes the audience and the judges vibrate.
VISIONARY AWARD
The most creative, original and imaginative choreography will be recognized at the discretion of the judges.
GET UP AWARD (COSTUME)
Recognition of the choreography with the most creative costumes that complements the vision of dance.

FAMILY FRIENDLY CHOREOGRAPHIES
REVOLT is a family event and we are determined to set standards to ensure that inappropriate routines are disqualified.
What is inappropriate?
Inappropriate costumes.
Vulgar choreographic movements.
Inappropriate words said by any of the participants either in the competition, awards and/or in the music

ACCESS FOR AUDIENCE IS FREE!
We want to assure you that during the event, access to competition is free and open to the general public.
The COMPETITION will be
live-streamed in certain cities!
UTILITY AND SCENERY
For security reasons, only props that each participant can load/unload and that are used during the routine will be allowed.

The props must be introduced/removed from the stage by the dancers in the the routine.

Our staff cannot help any dancer with their props.

For security reasons, participants will only be allowed props to surpass the average height of the dancers in the routine.

It is forbidden to build props at the venue. All props or elements to be used must arrive ready to be loaded on to stage by the dancers.

At the end of the routine, it is the dancer's responsibility to leave the stage clean and ready for the next number.

We are not responsible for any accessories, costumes, scenery, props or personal belongings that remain at the venue at any time.

The use of any type of elements/props that puts dancers, participants and assistants at risk are prohibited.

In the event that any participant does not comply with these rules and policies, the routine will be automatically be disqualified.
PHOTO & VIDEO
REVOLT is proud to continue with the PHOTO/VIDEO STUDIO PACK, your studio will enjoy ALL your Photos and Videos. The fee is per routine and will be due days prior to the start of competition:

The package has a cost of $1,500.00 MXN per routine.
The photos and videos will be available 20 days after the end of the competition and a link will be sent to your studio via Wetransfer.
The use of ANY electronic devices for photography/video is STRICTLY PROHIBITED during all competition numbers, as well as in dressing rooms and bathrooms. Failure to comply with this rule may result in a point deduction for the routine being recorded/photographed, as well as the confiscation of the recordings/photographs.
Any viewer who does not abide to our no photo/video rule during the competition, may be escorted out of the event. It is the responsibility of the studio owner/director to inform their students and parents of this policy.
All contestants grant REVOLT permission to use photos/videos of their performances for promotional purposes, including publicity, and posting on social media.

The studio director or the person in charge will be requested to visit our registration module for any questions, which will be answered at the discretion of the REVOLT STAFF.
In an effort to enhance event planning, we have introduced a $1,000 MXN deposit per routine. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another city or event. For Studio registrations, only if a routine is removed before the 60-day deadline, the deposit can be applied to the remaining balance for that city or event only. This change aims to provide more opportunities to dancers at each event and prevent last-minute cancellations.
The early bird payment expires 30 days before the event and will only be considered if both payment and registration are fully completed before the deadline.
At REVOLT, every member of our community is valued. In the event that a waiting list is necessary for your city due to previous sell-outs, we'll ensure you're informed promptly. To secure your registration, we kindly ask that you settle the remaining balance within one week of our notification. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for being a part of our REVOLT family.
Participants aged 15 years or younger must be accompanied by their teacher, principal, or a responsible adult at all times.
Changes in your routine registration can only be made up to 15 days before the event.
There is no limit to the number of choreographies you can register.
If a dancer participates with more than one solo and obtains a score within the top three places, only the solo with the highest score will be awarded.
Competition payments are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another competition routine in the same city up to 30 days before the event.
Judges have the authority to request a routine to be repeated if extra time for evaluation is needed.
If there are technical issues on REVOLT's part, the competing studio may choose to continue or redo the routine. However, if the issue is caused by the participants, the performance must either proceed or be withdrawn.
Please note that competition times may be flexible and may run approximately 30-50 minutes ahead or behind schedule.
Participants must be ready one hour before their scheduled competition time at the venue. If the routine is called within this time and the participant is not available, the routine will be scratched off and not be able to compete.
Will be mailed to all the dance studios and/or competition participants 3-7 days prior to the event.
The venue, location, hotel, and REVOLT are not responsible for theft or loss of personal property. Keep personal items against the walls or under chairs to avoid accidents.
Liability and Release Form:
Studios will be asked to sign this liability and release form on behalf of their participants. By attending REVOLT and/or V Spinoff Weekend, and/or by signing this release form, participants, their families, studio owners, directors, and staff acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with dance-related activities. They agree to assume full responsibility for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the event.
Participants and their representatives also understand that they are responsible for securing their own medical coverage and will bear all associated costs in the event of an injury or accident. REVOLT, V Spinoff Weekend, and their affiliates, including staff and organizers, are not liable for any medical expenses or damages incurred during participation.
Responsibility for Safety and Behavior:
Directors, teachers, and choreographers are responsible for their students' safety and behavior, including dancers, assistants, and parents. Inappropriate behavior or disrespect will result in suspension from the event. Dancers who disrupt others or compromise safety and harmony will not be allowed to participate.
Photography and Videography Consent:
By participating in the event, participants and their guardians consent to photography and videography, which may be used for promotional purposes by REVOLT.
Medical Information:
Studios or participants must provide emergency contact information and disclose any relevant medical conditions to the event organizers in advance.
Waiver of Liability:
REVOLT and its affiliates are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or losses that occur during the event, except as required by law.
Property Damage:
Participants are responsible for any damage caused to the venue or equipment during the event.
Compliance with Rules:
By participating in REVOLT, participants agree to comply with all event rules and regulations as outlined by the event organizers.At Revolt, we're not liable for changes made by faculty if teachers or choreographers can't attend a city due to personal or health reasons. Note that faculty differs by city, and we can't guarantee specific members at each location. Sometimes, advertised faculty may be substituted with equally qualified professionals.
We'll ensure transparency by providing you with the scores for your city in writing, although please note that scores may vary based on factors like the city's dynamics, the presence of Elite performances, and the composition of the judging panel. Additionally, REVOLT reserves the right to change all rules and regulations at any time without notice, with any questions being resolved at the discretion of the REVOLT Director.
